the Canada Greener homes grant initiative
To respond to the challenge of climate change, the Canadian government created the Canada Greener Homes Grant, with an investment of nearly $2.6 billion.
The Canada Greener Homes Grant was designed to encourage households to undertake energy-efficient renovations and upgrades to their homes, such as:
- Installing or replacing a heat pump
- Replacing doors and windows;
- Improving wall, basement or roof insulation;
- Installing a heat pump water heater;
- Installing solar panels.
Specifically, it gave access to :
- Financial assistance of up to $5,000 for energy efficient renovations;
- An EnerGuide energy evaluation ;
- Expert advice on planning your renovations.
